Lisk (LSK)

Lisk is a platform coin that will be used to be able to create other blockchains from the ground up, using javascript. Lisk and Ark share many commonalities, including a shared historial background. Lisk was originally a fork of the Crypti project.

Mining/Staking

Lisk uses a delegated proof of stake consensus mechanism for forging and governance, although there is criticism that this system is far too centralized and controlled by a very small number of participants.

Development Team

Lisk's development team can be viewed on their website, wearing matching Lisk t-shirts. While their names and roles are included, there is no information about the past affiliations or experience of any of these people. To be clear, this is a real team and a legitimate project, but it would be nice to be able to learn more about the backgrounds of the team members.

Criticisms, Caveats, and Competitors

Lisk's main competitor is Ark. Although Ark is a more recent project, which forked from the Lisk code, Ark seems to be making some great strides to catch up, and to differentiate itself from Lisk with an entirely new code base. Also, Lisk is limited to development using javascript, whereas Ark supports more than a dozen common coding languages.
