Loopring (LRC)
Loopring's goal is to become a decentralized cryptoasset exchange. Loopring will have many advantages, when fully functional, including enhanced security (through the use of smart contracts). Loopring does not require members to send tokens to exchanges for custody. Loopring will also offer features such as enhancing liquidity by splitting individual large orders into several smaller orders and distributing them across multiple exchanges.
Mining/Staking
We really have no information at the present time about the utility of Loopring tokens within the project framework.
Development Team
Many of the development team members have backgrounds at Google. Full details can be found on Loopring's website. One of the key advisors to the team is Da Hongfei, who is a very notable name within the community, being both the founder of Neo and the CEO of OnChain.
Criticisms, Caveats, and Competitors
Due to the time-stamping characteristics of the blockchain, market orders will not be possible using Loopring, only limit orders, triggers, and stops.
