Rise (RISE)

Rise is a platform cryptocurrency. It's purpose was to make it easier for other cryptocurrencies to be built upon their platform. It is not a well-known project, thanks in part due to its lack of marketing throughout 2017, and also because of the long time frames for milestones on its road map.

Mining/Staking

The Rise Project uses a Delegated Proof of Stake consensus system, with 101 delegates. Rise holders make stake their assets in a wallet by voting for a delegate, and receive staking rewards from that delegate (proportional to the size of the assets in their wallet) in return for supporting the delegate.

Development Team

The Rise development team is small. Some of the development was initially outsourced, but then the outsourcing company was dropped and control reverted to internal developers. The code was initially a fork of Lisk, but after a while, switched to being based on the Ark codebase, but then eventually was built on a hybrid framework with Switch.

Criticisms, Caveats, and Competitors

The main criticism of Rise at the moment is that development has been fragmented and uncertain in the past.
