Zcoin (XZC)

Zcoin is the first full implementation of the Zerocoin Protocol, which allows users to have complete privacy via Zero-Knowledge cryptographic proofs. Zcoin should therefore be considered to be a pure cryptocurrency, and one that is focused on user privacy.



Mining/Staking

Zcoin uses a proof-of-work (mining) system. The cryptographic algorithm used is Lyra2z, which is a chained hash of Blake256 for the first round and Lyra2 for the final round.

Zcoin has a mid-sized development team which includes some very talented developers. The team pedigrees can be seen on the official website (links below).

Criticisms, Caveats, and Competitors

There is a lot of confusion between the Zcoin and the Zcash projects. The two are related, but separate projects. More information about the differences between the two projects can be seen in an article linked below.
